Jayy Kirks: Photographs That Feel Like Home
There’s a warmth in Jayy’s work that feels like home — nostalgic, unposed, and full of life.
Based in Forest, Virginia, Jayy is a family-focused photographer who also captures weddings, sports, and seniors — but at the heart of it all is connection. The kind that makes you feel something when you look back.
Her journey started simply — a mom wanting better photos of her kids on the golf course. One camera turned into a passion, and before she knew it, she was photographing families… then weddings… then building something of her own.
“I fell in love… and that was it for me.”
With 4 years behind the lens, Jayy is in a powerful season of growth — learning to know her worth, trust her talent, and step fully into the space she’s created. After recently winning an award and being encouraged by fellow vendors, she’s rewriting the story she once told herself.
Her style is:
Warm. Nostalgic. Unposed.
And her “why” runs deep.
Having once felt the absence of meaningful photos in her own life, she now approaches every session with intention — knowing just how much these images matter, especially for moms.
One of her most defining moments?
Nailing a shot she had been chasing — and hearing a bride call it her favorite.
That quiet realization: you can do this.
Her favorite to photograph?
Maternity — golden hour, motherhood, and that undeniable glow.
In front of her lens, clients aren’t just clients — they’re people she meets where they are. She reads the room, matches energy, and creates a space that feels more like friendship than formality.

Pre-session ritual?
Windows down, music up — country or rock — resetting her energy before every shoot.
“If I could tell my younger self one thing: Hang tight… you’re gonna love it here.”
