THE STORY BEHIND SHE SHOOTS

We created the kind of creative space we wanted to find.

She Shoots is an independently produced print and digital magazine built to celebrate women creating meaningful work—and to remind them they do not have to build alone.

Our Story

She Shoots began with a simple belief: women’s work deserves to be seen with care.

Not reduced to a quick scroll. Not squeezed into the smallest available space. Not separated from the real person, story, risk, or season behind it.

What began as a photography-centered publication has grown into a wider creative community for photographers, artists, models, makers, mothers, writers, founders, and women building businesses across industries.

Each edition combines intentional visual curation, full-page artist features, thoughtful editorial writing, and the voices of the community shaping it.

This is more than a place to collect beautiful work.

It is a place to preserve it.

We believe creative work should be given room to breathe.

We believe women can be ambitious and human, professional and vulnerable, established and still becoming.

We believe print can turn a passing moment into something lasting.

We believe community should feel generous rather than competitive.

And we believe the woman behind the work matters just as much as the work itself.

  • What Makes Us Different

Most publications are designed around how much content can fit onto a page. She Shoots is designed around how a feature should feel. We intentionally give selected artists their own full-page spotlight rather than crowding several creatives into one small layout. This creates a more elevated reading experience while allowing each woman’s work to be experienced with the attention it deserves. Your work is not small. Your feature should not be small either.

Meet Taylor

She Shoots was founded and is independently produced by Taylor Rocha, a photographer, editor, mother, and creative business owner who understands what it means to build something in the middle of real life.

Taylor created She Shoots as a space where women could share more than polished outcomes. It is a place for the work, stories, uncertainty, growth, motherhood, business, and creative seasons that exist behind what the world eventually sees.

Every issue is developed with a deeply personal level of curation and care—from reviewing submissions and shaping editorial direction to designing the pages and supporting the community surrounding them.

I never wanted She Shoots to feel like a publication people simply appeared in. I wanted it to feel like somewhere they belonged.

There is room for you here.
